Background and Experience

Micah graduated from UH Mānoa with his BA in Psychology. He then received his MS in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University in 2020 with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. His background includes working with high-need families, sexually abused adolescents, spouses with marital issues, and emotionally reactive adolescents. He primarily works using Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to build secure attachments.

“Mental health is just as crucial to our overall health and well being as is physical health, but often times we don’t know how to “exercise” our minds in the same way we do our bodies.

Sometimes we keep our negative experiences, feelings, or thoughts to ourselves because we worry we may burden a close friend or family member with our problems. Or perhaps, we don’t quite feel comfortable enough sharing these things with someone close to us. This may impact us in ways that we may not be consciously aware of in our daily lives, or even later on in life.

Therein lies the beauty of therapy. I’m here to create a safe space for you to tell me your story and help you navigate through life’s challenges. Whether that be relationships, past trauma, transitions to new stages in life, or daily stress and anxiety, I’m here to support you in becoming the best version of yourself.“
