Tae-en (Tracy) Yu, Student MFT
Couples and Family Therapy in Honolulu
Taeen (Tracy) provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families, offering in-person appointments at our Honolulu office. As an MFT student completing her final internship, Taeen is hoping to gain a wide range of experience working with individuals, couples, children, and families. She is especially interested in relational work with couples and family relationships as she grows in her clinical experience.
Taeen draws from Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Bowen Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Taeen primarily works with the understanding of the importance of attachment in relationships and uses other approaches to provide particular communication skills when needed.
Taeen works under Colin Moore, LMFT as a site supervisor within our practice and also has an additional supervisor from her graduate training course who provides increased oversight and assists in helping her development. This is one of the advantages of working with a Student Intern; having a greater level of insight from experienced therapists, while also having a greater focus on your case due to the student’s limited caseload.

An MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) is trained to work with the emotional and relational patterns that shape how we think, feel, and connect with others. Unlike psychiatrists, MFTs do not prescribe medication. Unlike psychologists, who often focus on assessment and diagnosis, MFTs are specifically trained in relationship systems — meaning Lilia looks not just at the individual, but at how relationships, family history, and life context are shaping your experience.
